Surfing at the Mango

With hundreds of miles of virtually unexplored coastline and an average of 330 days/year of offshore winds, it's no secret that Nicaragua is the surf destination of Central America. Mango Rosa is centrally located in the middle of a giant surf zone.

Just a few minutes from Mango Rosa is Playa Maderas offering the most consistent waves in Southern Nicaragua with numerous peaks to chose from. Machete's monster A-frame point break with reeling lefts and rights, provides all the barrels you can handle. A playful outfront beach break that is great for all skill levels.

South you will find a number of fun rippable surf breaks including Playas Remanzo, Tamarindo, Hermosa, Yankee, and Escameca. Surf the beaches you saw in this seasons Survivor Nicaragua.

North there are some truly world class breaks at Manzanillo, Colorado, Panga Drops and a little further North to Popoyo.

Shortboarder or Longboarder, whatever your skill level our staff will put you on surf. We will provide you with the benefits of our half a century of combined wave riding experience in finding the "Perfect Peak".

Board Rentals are Available at the Grand Rancho.

Surf Charters on the La Panga Rosa

La Panga Rosa is a custom 30' center console panga, powered by twin 140hp Suzuki motors to put you on the surf when it is firing. The Panga is fully equipped with a full shade top, stereo, fishing gear, beer, water and all the safety equipment.

Surf Trips by Land

Surfs trips by land in a 4x4 air conditioned truck. Truck can accomodate 1 to 4 people.

All Surf Trips by Land Include:

- A Bilingual (English and Spanish) Surf Guide with Local knowledgable about the Area, Surf Breaks and Conditions.

- Ice Cold Beverages(Includes: Cold Water, Beer, Gatorade, Sodas or Juice - 3/person)

- Add $6/person for Lunch

- Add Surf Instruction to Any Trip for $15/hour of Instruction

Surf Tours by Land: Mango Rosa - South

- Remanso/Tamarindo Beaches: (1-$30, 2-$40, 3- $50, 4-$60)

- Remanso is a good for beginner to intermediate surfers, great for lessons and good in onshore conditions and big surf. Rights and left hand beach break

- Tamarindo for intermediate surfers. Right hand beach break. Occasional left hand barrel in front of rocks for experienced surfers only. Better in offshore conditions

- Yankee Beach: (1-$40, 2-$50, 3- $60, 4-$70)

- Fast barreling beach break. Intermediate to experienced surfers. High tide and offshore winds required.

Surf Tours by Land: Mango Rosa - North

- Colorado Surf Break: (1-$80, 2-$90, 3- $115, 4-$120)

- Fast barreling beach break. Intermediate to experienced surfers. All tides good and offshore winds preferred. Best wave in Southern Nicaragua.

- Panga Drops: (1-$80, 2-$90, 3- $115, 4-$120)

- Offshore A-frame. Intermediate to experienced surfers. All tides good and glassy conditions preferred. Holds huge swell but requires lots of paddling.

- Colorados and Panga Drops: (1-$100, 2-$110, 3- $120, 4-$140)

- Santana Beach Break: (1-$100, 2-$110, 3- $120, 4-$140)

- Fast barreling beach break. Intermediate to experienced surfers. High tide is best and offshore winds preferred. Nice wedge, similar to Yankee but more consistent. Lunch at Rancho Santana is an option.

- Popoyo Reef Break: (1-$120, 2-$130, 3- $150, 4-$180)

- A frame reef break. Intermediate to experienced surfers. Works on all tides, more hollow at low and offshore winds preferred.

- This trip can include a side trip to the local hot spring in Las Salinas $5/person extra.
